This article is for individuals nominated as signatories on an investment application.
When making an investment, you can sign online using a few different options, depending on what the fund manager allows. This article will cover the Use your mobile phone to sign in option. For information regarding other signing methods, please refer to this article.
Read on to find out more about how to use your mobile phone to sign.
Instructions
- Review the application form you're about to sign.
- Click Start in the blue bar when you're ready to sign.
- Select either the Sign or just click on the signature field itself.
- Select Use your mobile phone to sign. This will trigger a text message to be sent to the mobile number linked to your account.
- On your mobile device, open up the text message you've just received and tap the link to begin the signing process.
Once you've opened the signing page on your phone, you will be presented with one or more signature methods to choose from. Note that the available signature methods will depend on how the fund manager has configured the product (eg if the Draw signature option is enabled, you'll be shown a Draw signature option to draw a signature on your phone). Read on for detailed instructions on using each of these methods.
Take a photo
- Tap Take a photo.
- Tap Capture
- Note: Depending on your browser, you may be prompted to select an app to get your image from. If this is the case, select Camera.
- Take a photo of your signature, ensuring your entire signature appears within the box.
- Crop your signature as required.
- Your photo will now be shown within an editing box for you to adjust. You can reposition your photo by tapping and dragging the photo.
- If you need to start again with a different photo, tap Retake photo, otherwise, tap Use photo & save signature.
- Return to your computer. Your signature will now appear within the signature field of your document.
- If any additional fields are required to be signed, click Next in the blue bar, then sign by either clicking Sign in the blue bar or by clicking the signature field itself.
- Once you have finished reviewing and signing the application, select Done at the bottom of the page.
Upload a photo of your signature
- Tap Upload a photo of your signature.
- Tap Select.
- Note: Depending on your browser, you may be prompted to select an app to get your image from. If this is the case, select Library.
- Select your signature from your existing images.
- Crop your signature as required.
- Your photo will now be shown within an editing box for you to adjust. You can reposition your photo by tapping and dragging the photo.
- Return to your computer. Your signature will now appear within the signature field of your document.
- If any additional fields are required to be signed, click Next in the blue bar, then sign by either clicking Sign in the blue bar or by clicking the signature field itself.
- Once you have finished reviewing and signing the application, select Done at the bottom of the page.
Draw signature
- Tap Draw signature.
- Draw your signature using your finger in the space provided.
- If you want to clear the drawing area and start over, choose Clear in the top right. Otherwise, once you're happy select Save & Sign.
- Return to your computer. Your signature will now appear within the signature field of your document.
- If any additional fields are required to be signed, click Next in the blue bar, then sign by either clicking Sign in the blue bar or by clicking the signature field itself.
- Once you have finished reviewing and signing the application, select Done at the bottom of the page.
